Install Unity
This page will guide you through how to download and install a specific version of Unity and how to download the ParaSpace SDK. These are the two things we must do before jumping into our creations.
Step 1: Download and install a specific version of Unity
ParaSpace is currently using Unity 2021.3.6f1 (2021.3.6). Using any other version to import and upload the projects to the platform may cause runtime errors. If you haven't installed the corresponding version of Unity, please go through the following steps:
- Unity Hub is a tool for managing Unity versions and projects. Please download and install the corresponding version of Unity Hub. Click here.
- After Unity Hub is downloaded and installed, click this link to download Unity 2021.3.6. Find the 2021.3.6 version on the website, and click the "Unity Hub" icon located on the right to finish the download and install.
Please install the correct version of Unity
Installing an incorrect version of Unity may cause errors during the actual operation. Please make sure that you have installed Unity 2021.3.6f1.
After update, the Unity version name is shown as 2021.3.6. Please install this version of Unity.
- The Unity versions used for different ParaSpace platforms have different contents directory and interfaces. Please select the version recommended by Unity Hub.
- When the following interface appears, click the "Install" button. (If you are a Unity professional, you can select the contents of the installation package as needed.)
Step 2: Download ParaSpace SDK
ParaSpace SDK consists of ParaSpace Avatar SDK and ParaSpace World SDK. The former is a Unity plug-in for creating and uploading virtual avatars, while the latter is a Unity plug-in for creating and uploading virtual worlds. Please finish downloading these two files and remember the path where you saved them. We need to import these two files into the Unity project in order for the creations to run normally.

- To download ParaSpace World SDK, click here
Step 3: Get a personal license
Although Unity is a paid commercial game engine, it allows individuals to use the engine for free to support independent developers. Take the following steps to get a free personal license.
- Open the Unity Hub, and log in.
- Click the Preferences button in the upper left corner.
- In the Preferences dialog box, click "Licenses" on the left sidebar to open the Licenses interface.
- Click the "Add" button in the upper right corner.
- In the "Add new license" dialog box, select "Get a free personal license".
- Read the Terms of Service, and click "Agree and get personal edition license".
- A personal license is granted. Then you can use the Unity engine for free.
